This Valentine's Day, Draavin Canteen is serving one of the most unique meals in all of the capital!

Draavin Canteen in Gurugram is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a one-night, sit-down, community pop-up—the third edition of their supper club—titled “A Franco-Tamil Love Affair.” The special dinner follows a progressive tasting format, exploring the intersection of French culinary technique and Tamil flavours, drawing inspiration from the history and heritage of French-influenced Pondicherry.

Planned as a course-by-course experience, the evening unfolds like a story of love, bringing together classic French techniques with the flavours of Tamil cuisine. The menu is largely shaped by coastal ingredients, slow-cooking methods, and dishes that highlight culinary exchanges influenced by colonial legacies.

A Progressive Franco-Tamil Menu

The tasting menu begins with Aarambhamam, featuring Rasam du Lait de Coco—a clarified coconut rasam topped with curry leaf air. It is followed by hors d’oeuvres such as pâte-à-choux (a light, airy French pastry dough) filled with vadavam curry.

Subsequent courses include Potage Puducherry-style poluillaibase, a Tamil-inspired croque monsieur Fromage with tomato chutney and Auroville cheese, and Savourex Meelagu Thool Assaad croquettes paired with tengai mangai thoviyal.

Enjoy the best of French and South Asian fusion at this spot.

A Sathakudi Sorbet with chilli salt serves as a palate cleanser before the main courses, which feature dishes such as Puducherry athu kari roast with green chilli curry, Meen assad with poppy seed curry, and a vegetarian Chow Chow Petite Pie with sauce blanche.

Desserts conclude the meal with Paal payasam brûlée and Pazham crêpe suzette, flambéed tableside and finished with caramelised banana, coconut, and orange rum sauce.
