Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, located in Delhi NCR, has introduced a limited-period Contemporary English High Tea at The Promenade Lounge, which is running from January 20 to January 30, 2026. The experience has been curated by UK-based Pastry Chef Alla Smith and offers a modern interpretation of the classic English high tea, presented through contemporary plating, seasonal elements, and a relaxed setting.
This Contemporary English High Tea is part of “World & Us: New Zealand Festival – India Chapter 2026,” which is an initiative organised by the CD Foundation in collaboration with the Whiria Collective NZ, Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, and partners from New Zealand and the UK. As one of the principal host venues for the festival, Taj Surajkund is serving as a platform for a series of diplomatic, cultural, and culinary engagements.
On the initiative, Anuj Mathur, the Executive Chef at Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR, said, “At Taj Surajkund, our culinary philosophy is anchored in offering guests experiences that go beyond the plate, where cuisine becomes a window into culture and craftsmanship. Through this curated experience, we bring a globally cherished ritual to our patrons in a manner that feels authentic, considered, and relevant today.”
What To Expect At The High Tea
Hosted at The Promenade Lounge at Taj Surajkund, the high tea features all the delicious items often served in a traditional high tea. From freshly baked scones and handcrafted savouries to delicate sweet treats, it’s got it all! The delicious food is paired with the atmosphere of an elegant afternoon: an experience that is rooted in craftsmanship, slow luxury, and the spirit of cultural exchange. This high tea also aligns with Taj Surajkund’s positioning as a destination that emphasises the amalgamation of cultures, contemporary influences on the traditional, and global culinary tastes.
In addition to the high tea, the festival also includes “Coffee Morning with New Zealand,” a collaborative culinary showcase featuring chefs from India and New Zealand. The event highlights Māori cuisine and includes a two-day British High Tea pop-up on January 21 and 22, 2026.
