Prepare this cinnamon maple whiskey sour, this Thanksgiving.
Looking for the perfect Thanksgiving cocktail? This cinnamon maple whiskey sour might be just the right fit. Each sip pairs the sweetness of maple with a hint of cinnamon and the comfort of a classic whiskey sour.
If you love that smooth, velvety texture and the signature froth in a traditional whiskey sour, adding an egg white is optional but highly recommended. While it doesn’t alter the flavour, the egg white transforms the drink by producing a rich, foamy top and a creamy body. If you are a vegan or wish to skip eggs, aquafaba, which produces the same silky foam, is an alternative.
Whether you’re toasting before carving the turkey, relaxing after a long day of cooking, or serving drinks with dessert and good company, this cinnamon maple whiskey sour brings warmth and gratitude to the season.

Ingredients
- Whiskey/Bourbon - 60 ml
- Fresh lemon juice - 25 ml
- Maple syrup (pure) - 20 ml
- Egg white (optional, for froth) - 1 piece
- A pinch of ground cinnamon - 0 g
- Handful of ice cubes - 0 g
- Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
- Orange peel or dehydrated orange (for garnish) - 0 g
Instructions
Step-1
Add whiskey, lemon juice, maple syrup, egg white (optional), and a pinch of cinnamon to a cocktail shaker.
Step-2
Shake without ice for 12–15 seconds. This aerates the egg white and creates a velvety foam.
Step-3
Add ice into the shaker.
Step-4
Shake again for 15–20 seconds until the outside of the shaker turns frosty.
Step-5
Double-strain into a chilled rocks or coupe glass (If using a rocks glass, add a large ice cube).
Step-6
Rest a cinnamon stick on top. Optionally, you could also put an orange peel flame over the drink (hold peel over flame, then squeeze — adds fragrance and drama).
Note:
- Double the ingredients when cooking for more people to ensure everyone gets a fluffy stack.
- Swap out eggs for mashed bananas, yogurt, or flaxseed mix if you're vegetarian or allergic to eggs.
- Use buttermilk instead of regular milk for extra soft and airy pancakes.
- Let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking to get fluffier pancakes.
- Cook on medium-low heat to avoid burning while ensuring even cooking.
- Add vanilla extract or cinnamon for an extra touch of flavor.
- Top with fresh fruits, nuts, or honey for a delicious and healthy twist.
