Alfresco 1882

Located at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Whitefield, 1882 Alfresco is a restaurant steeped in Anglo-Indian heritage and one that stands true to the history of Whitefield. In 1882, the King of Mysore, Chamaraja Wodeyar X, allocated the area now known as Whitefield to the Eurasian and Anglo-Indian Association, for them to establish agricultural settlements. The area was named after David White, who was the president of the association at the time. While the farming never took off, Whitefield became home to the Anglo-Indian community.
What makes the restaurant truly special is its menu, which features dishes that tell the tale of its surroundings.
You should definitely try their paneer tikka and the Malabar fish curry, a fragrant, coconut-rich creation. The corn and chicken fritters are a delightful starter that captures the playful soul of Anglo-Indian fare, while desserts like sticky date pudding offer a sweet finish.
The vibe is relaxed and lively, making it perfect for family brunches, friendly catch-ups, or simply lingering over a long dinner. With its live kitchen, generous portions, and fusion of regional and international flavours, 1882 Alfresco isn’t just a meal but an experience of heritage, warmth, and storytelling.
