Hurry! There's so much to catch up on, in Bengaluru

Hurry! There's so much to catch up on, in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, among the country’s most fast-moving metropolises, doesn’t believe in slowing down and more so when we are talking about food. Just when you think you’ve finally ticked off almost every hard-to-get reservation in the city, there’s a new wave of openings. Each one more tempting than the last. The city’s ever-thriving dining scene is buzzing with fresh energy, and this is our lineup of some of our favourite newcomers.

Think: intimate cocktail bars, one of the most popular cheesecake brands in the world, Mexican spots serving food the right way, and global flavours that feel familiar. These openings are not just amping up the city’s food scene but also changing the way the world experiences India’s upcoming dining culture—one that is constantly reinventing itself. Whether it’s a niche spot with regional cuisine, or a concept that feels straight out of a city abroad, these are the five spots you must visit to experience the best of what Bengaluru is doing on the food front.

Go on, make those plans!

Pizza No Cap

Positioned as a chef-led “pizza workshop” rather than a traditional pizzeria, this space is all about experimentation—no rules, no fixed styles, just flavour-forward cooking that treats pizza like craft.

What really sets it apart is its almost obsessive focus on dough. We’re talking cold-fermented bases that rest for up to 96 hours, resulting in crusts that are airy and deeply flavourful without feeling too thick or doughy. Some favourite picks on the menu include signature pies like Kerala Flex, The Ottoman, and Peppa’s Muddy Puddle that push beyond the usual suspects, while small plates like Sticky Chicken, Prawn in Custardy, and Chillies on Fire remind you why you must not skip the starters. Even the drinks—house-fermented and slightly offbeat—fit neatly into the whole “trust the process” vibe.

With open kitchens, counter seating, and communal tables where you can actually watch your pizza go from dough to fire, the space is designed to be relaxed, easy and laid-back. Come here if you’re in the mood for pizza, yes—but more importantly, come here if you’re open to rethinking what pizza can be.

Roxie and Barry

Roxie & Barry lean heavily into storytelling, and might just be a more cinematic spot than all others. Touted as India’s first Indo-Italian “crafthouse,” the space is built around a dual personality: Roxie and Barry, two imagined characters inspired by Italy’s contrasting coastlines, which shape everything from the menu to the mood.

On the plate, the “Roxie” side—channelling the Amalfi Coast—is bold, citrusy, and built for sharing, with dishes like charred pineapple al piccante, ricotta & truffle agnolotti, and Mediterranean baked seabass stealing the spotlight.

Meanwhile, “Barry” leans into Apulia’s more restrained, ingredient-first cooking—everything from lobster bisque risotto to hummus & lamb bolognese to a slow-cooked confit duck leg that’s all about depth and technique. The entire kitchen runs on a craft-first philosophy, too: pastas are made fresh, sauces are slow-cooked, and even preserves are made in-house, so everything feels thoughtful rather than rushed.

The Cheesecake Factory Bakery

If your Instagram feed has ever made you crave those impossibly creamy, sky-high slices of cheesecake, here’s some very good news: The Cheesecake Factory Bakery has officially landed in India, with its very first outlet opening in Bengaluru this year. Making its debut at Phoenix Mall of Asia, the iconic American dessert brand’s bakery arm is bringing its globally-loved cheesecakes straight to the city—no international flight required.

The concept here leans more towards a café-meets-dessert boutique than a full-service restaurant. Expect a menu built around their signature cheesecakes (they’re known for offering over 30 indulgent flavours), alongside other decadent desserts that feel straight out of a New York-style bakery. What’s particularly exciting for Indian diners is a specially curated range of eggless cheesecakes.

The brand has entered India through a partnership with Bengaluru-based Gourmet Café and is planning an aggressive expansion, aiming to open up to 55 outlets across the country over the next few years.

The space itself follows that premium, grab-and-go, luxury-dessert format, making it perfect for both dining in-house or just stopping by for takeaway treats. Go ASAP!

Timings: Monday to Sunday (10 am–11 pm)

Mezcalita

If there’s one new opening that’s bringing full-blown fiesta energy to Bengaluru right now, it’s Mezcalita. Fresh out of Mumbai and now in Indiranagar, this vibrant Mexican cantina isn’t just about food—it’s about recreating the kind of electric, colour-soaked, music-filled Mexico you don’t usually see on a menu.

The menu is built for grazing (and going back for seconds). Start with their loaded nachos or chip-and-dip platters, then dive into antojitos like street-style corn (elote), papas rellenas, and spicy tempura bites. But the real stars? The tacos, of course,—served individually so you can mix, match, and commit to a full tasting spree—and their tortas, made with freshly baked Telera bread that’s crisp outside, soft within. For mains, there’s: fideo seco (a Mexican-style pasta), flautas ahogadas (deep-fried flute-like dish stuffed with meat and served with dips), and slow-cooked BBQ pork ribs. And of course, don’t skip dessert—tres leches, and cinnamon churros are very much part of the experience.

As for drinks, Mezcalita leans hard into agave spirits—tequila and mezcal take centre stage with cocktails that are smoky, citrusy, spicy, and fruity. Some drinks are even inspired by the many stages of tequila-making.

And then there’s the space: dramatic arched windows, bursts of bright colour, a bold teal and pink entrance, and a signature green bar that anchors the room. Inside, it’s all warm lighting, Mexican folk details, and just enough chaos to make it feel like a party you’ve accidentally stumbled into.

Address: No.950, Bayt Towers, 12th Main Rd, opp. Araku Coffee, HAL 2nd, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560008

Timings: Monday to Sunday (12 pm–12:30 am)

Price for two: INR 2,500

Zen Chai

If you love boba, this one’s just the opening you’ve been looking for.

Tapping straight into Bengaluru’s love for aesthetic, sip-and-stroll beverages, Zen Chai is a playful, Gen Z-coded bubble tea spot that’s as much about the aesthetic as it is about what’s in your cup. Positioned as a bridge between Taiwanese bubble tea culture and India’s obsession with chai, the concept is the best of both worlds.

On the menu, you’ve got fruit-forward bubble teas like mango, lychee, peach, and hibiscus for something refreshing, and milk-based options like matcha, taro, Milo, and Thai tea. There are also smoothies like mango berry or lychee hibiscus, that are equal parts drink and dessert. What really makes it fun, though, is that you can even customise! Pick your base, then load it up with toppings like classic boba, brown sugar pearls, nata de coco, or rainbow jelly for that perfect chewy, textural hit.

For an Indian twist on this milk tea, Zen Chai is a great pick.
