International Coffee Day 2025

International Coffee Day 2025

International Coffee Day is the perfect excuse to explore the world of coffee liqueurs and spirits. These bottles bring together the depth of roasted coffee with the warmth of alcohol, creating drinks that can be sipped neat, poured over ice, or mixed into cocktails like the espresso martini. India now has some excellent homegrown options that stand up to international classics. Here are a few that deserve a place on your bar shelf.

Bandarful

Crafted by Himmaleh Spirits, Bandarful is a cold-brew coffee liqueur made with Arabica beans sourced from Chikmagalur and brewed for over 22 hours. It’s smooth, bold, and layered with hints of cocoa, making it as good to sip neat as it is in a cocktail. What sets it apart is the use of Himalayan spring water, which lends a clean finish. Bandarful has been recognised internationally, winning a Gold Medal at the USA Spirits Ratings in 2025. Prices vary depending on where you buy it: in Goa, a 750 ml bottle costs about INR 1,850, while Delhi Duty Free sells it for around INR 2,990.

Quaffine

Quaffine holds the distinction of being India’s first cold-brew coffee liqueur. Made with 100 per cent Arabica beans from Chikmagalur, it focuses on showcasing pure coffee flavours without artificial boosters. Expect notes of chocolate, raisins, and soft spices. Quaffine is a versatile choice—it works just as well in cocktails as it does drizzled over a dessert. In Goa, it’s available for about INR 1,650 for a 750 ml bottle, while in Mumbai, through Living Liquidz, it retails closer to INR 2,850.

Stranger & Sons Filtr Coffee

A collaboration between Stranger & Sons and Subko Coffee, Filtr Coffee is not quite a liqueur but a bottled cocktail inspired by the South Indian filter kaapi. It’s frothy, aromatic, and designed to be enjoyed straight from the bottle or shaken with ice for a more indulgent serve. This limited-edition release is priced at about INR 2,999 for a 750 ml bottle and is usually found in Goa and Maharashtra. Because of its popularity, it tends to sell out quickly, making it one of the more coveted bottles on this list.

Ti Connie Coffee Liqueur

If you prefer something on the sweeter side, Ti Connie is a creamy coffee liqueur with dessert-like qualities. It brings together roasted coffee bean notes with hints of caramel and chocolate, resulting in a smooth, indulgent drink. It’s best enjoyed over ice or with a splash of cream, though it can also be used in lighter cocktails. A 750 ml bottle costs around INR 1,750 in Mumbai and slightly higher in Bangalore, around INR 1,810.

Greater Than No Sleep Gin

Breaking away from the sweeter profile of liqueurs, Greater Than’s No Sleep is a coffee-infused gin that offers a completely different experience. It combines the botanicals of gin with the depth of cold-brew coffee, producing a dry, complex spirit with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, and red cherries. Because it isn’t sweet, this gin is perfect for cocktails where you want the coffee character without added sugar—think a coffee gin and tonic or a twist on the Negroni. In Goa, it’s priced at about ₹1,450 for a 750 ml bottle and is also available in metropolitan cities across India.
