All The Newest Places In Mumbai That Are On Our Must-Visit List This Month

From the city’s first beach club to a new entrant by Malaika Arora, we can’t wait to see what Mumbai has instore for us this month

These are all the places in Mumbai that you must check out this March

Mumbai never stops moving—from the traffic and people to the sheer speed of life, nothing in this city ever slows down. And guess what? Neither does the restaurant and nightlife scene. For obvious reasons, there’s too much to do in this city, which only points to one thing: too much to choose from. There’s always a new opening, a new bar, or a new menu to check out every week and weekend, and we’re not complaining! Just when we think we’ve mapped every lane of Bandra and bookmarked every cocktail space in the city, a fresh crop of openings arrives with something even more unexpected.

This month’s additions are no different. Lately, we’re witnessing a certain growing appetite for concepts that are all about comfort and creativity among the audience. And hence, these are restaurants that feel familiar but surprise you with flavour, bars that serve stories as well as they serve drinks, and spaces that turn a casual dinner into an experience worth planning around. February’s got the city’s first-ever beach club, neighbourhood nooks, European-meets-Indian, and Malaika Arora’s newest venture!

In a city defined by contrasts, sea breezes right alongside concrete skyscrapers, chai stops flourishing outside the best fine-dining destinations, these new openings illustrate what the city is really all about: that restless, ever-curious spirit. So whether you’re a local, a weekend visitor, or someone who just loves a good night out, here’s your guide to the newest places you actually need to check out this month.

Bastian Beach Club

For us city people, Mumbai’s Juhu beach is the closest we come to feeling a whiff of vacation and salt air. And if you’ve ever felt like we were lacking a seaside clubhouse of our own, as the cherry on top of everything, this city has to offer, Bastian Beach Club has arrived to fill that gap!

Launched by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her hospitality partner Ranjit Bindra, this expansive venue at Juhu’s Sun-n-Sand Hotel brings a European-style beach club experience to the city’s coastline—something you’ll recognise from iconic destinations like Ibiza, Mykonos, Bali, and Saint-Tropez.

The design embraces an open-air, coastal aesthetic, with a muted-red lighting that fills the space by evening, adding an extra clubby feel. The club also offers fluid indoor-outdoor spaces, a sprawling central pool and, of course, uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea that make it feel more like a resort than a city club. During daylight hours, the space is all about laid-back brunches, family hangouts, wellness-themed sessions and people lounging by the pool with sundowners in hand. And as the sun dips? The vibe shifts seamlessly into high-energy territory with curated DJ sets, live music and dancing that lasts late into the night.

Food at Bastian Beach Club riffs on Bastian’s signature menu with an added coastal twist that blends Asian and Latin influences. Some crowd-favourites on the menu currently include Hamachi Ceviche paired with sweet potato and tiger milk, small plates like Veg Dry Corn Ceviche and Guacamole with habanero, and larger mains such as the Tropical Bowl with coconut milk and turmeric-spiced cottage cheese or the 5 Pimientas Chicken Bowl.

The cocktail list is an experience in itself—I mean, it is a beach CLUB after all. Standout drinks like the Sakura Cloud Martini (gin, sake, lychee and jasmine foam), the tequila-based Pacific Breeze, and the Shogun Mojito with shiso and sake, are beachy and perfect for a vacationy vibe.

Whether you’re in the mood for a lazy afternoon by the pool, a sunset sundowner paired perfectly with a sea breeze, or a Friday night-out that seems like it’s straight out of Ibiza, Bastian Beach Club will most definitely deliver!

Sweeney Bombay

This venture by celebrity restaurateur Malaika Arora and Dhaval Udeshi is the coolest new space to be at right now. Officially opened just a few days ago, the space marries the elegance of Thai garden dining with the comfort of European home cooking, offering Mumbaikars a destination that feels like the perfect fusion of Asian and Western.

What immediately sets this space apart is its setting: the restaurant is nestled beneath a luscious 90-year-old mango tree that shades much of the outdoor courtyard, creating an almost oasis-like ambience in the middle of Khar. The design, complete with sage-toned interiors, high ceilings, soft white drapery, and an upper level with intimate seating, encourages diners to visit with plenty of time on their hands—enough to slowly sip cocktails, savour each course, and converse endlessly.

The menu, of course, represents Sweeney’s dual cuisine. Rooted in Thai and European home-style cooking, it spans more than 60 dishes! On the Thai side, some favourites include the aromatic coconut-galangal soup topped with a mist of makrut lime, crisp lettuce cups with herbed chicken, and unique salads featuring lotus root and pomelo. Main course dishes like sweet-spicy pineapple rice with prawns and cashews, and crab rice variations, echo street-to-fine-dining influences. The European side leans more into classics like caramelised onion soup with melted cheese, golden goat cheese croquettes drizzled with chilli honey, handmade tortellini, slow-braised lamb shank, and grilled chicken in white wine jus.

Sweeney’s bar programme also deserves a mention of its own. Led by a women-only team, the space presents inventive cocktails such as roasted pineapple whisky mixes, tamarind-flavoured spritzes, Thai-tea-infused Negronis, and papaya-sage rum creations. There are also great zero-proof options for teetotalers.

After Scarlett House, this one’s about to be Arora’s next big hit!

Soraia Bombay

Soraia stands out as one of Mumbai’s most talked-about new openings, not just for its scale, but for its intention. Nestled inside the iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse, this restaurant is the collaborative vision of restaurateurs Afsana Verma, Amit Verma and Dhaval Udeshi, with interiors designed by Gauri Khan. It’s a place that invites diners in for a ride—whether for a long lunch, sunset dinner, or an unhurried weekend meal under fairy lights.

The ambience at Soraia is one of its biggest draws. Spanning indoor and outdoor seating anchored by vine-draped pillars, a central fountain, and a striking glasshouse structure, the space feels like a European garden terrace located, surprisingly, in the heart of Mumbai. With warm espresso tones and velvet upholstery, the space creates an intimate dining experience that’s perfect for your next weekend date.

At the heart of Soraia’s appeal is the Neo-Botanical Cuisine, led by Chef Hitesh Shanbhag, characterised by dishes inspired by nature and the rhythms of the seasons. The menu traverses Indian coastal flavours and European countryside staples, full of familiar ingredients reinterpreted through contemporary technique. Some of the diner’s most-loved dishes include the creamy Mandarin and Paratha Salad, Warm Brie Hive, earthy Forest Mushroom Risotto, Spicy Mary Spaghetti, Tandoori Lamb Rack, and desserts like Sitafal Tres Leches.

The omakase-style cocktail offerings only add to everything this spot has up its sleeve—so, visit soon!

Roxanne’s Bar & All Day Diner

Roxanne’s Bar & All Day Diner is a new attraction offering that American-diner-like experience to the aesthetic-hungry diners of Mumbai. Located in Andheri East, it’s designed to replicate exactly what the name promises: a place where you can drop in at any time of the day, be it for a leisurely brunch, a drink too early in the day (I’m not judging), or a night that spills into cocktails and music!

Food at Roxanne’s covers all the bases you’d expect from an all-day concept. The menu features the world’s favourite diner classics, like loaded fries and crispy calamari, which make great bar companions, while heartier mains like juicy burgers, pasta, and grilled sandwiches ensure you won’t leave hungry. Some favs include Spicy & Avocado rolls, Salmon Rolls, Shanghai Chicken Dumplings, Sichuan Crunch Prawns, Honey I’m Sweet Burger, and Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

True to its name, the bar programme is a highlight, and as a bonus, it runs all day! The best, most unique ones include the Tiramisu Martini, Ghostbuster, Y2K Portion, and Nineties Mixtape.

What sets Roxanne’s apart is its versatility. You cannot categorise it as a certain kind of space because it absolutely doesn’t check all the boxes for any category, which is really the best part! It’s unpretentious, well-paced, and very much in sync with how Mumbaikars like to live: flexible, social, and ready for anything.

Cantina

The heart of this Italian favourite’s appeal lies in its menu, led by Chef Anthony Burd, who brings experience from New Jersey kitchens, Tuscan methods, and Michelin-starred spaces. Rather than the restrained minimalism of traditional Italian cooking, Cantina embraces the more abundant, tomato-forward spirit of Italian-American food—the kind that feels hearty, familiar, and perfect for cheat days.

Start with small plates like Mozzarella Sticks, Crunchy Polenta, Crispy Fried Calamari, and Avocado Pizzette, all designed to whet your appetite. The pizza programme relies on a 48-hour fermented New York-style dough, with classics like Pepperoni and Siciliana, as well as Mumbai-inspired versions such as Bandra and Bombay Hot, topped with spicy nduja and chilli oil. Fresh pastas made in-house include Mushroom Bolognese to Gnocchi Pesto, and Prawns Tortellini. Main dishes like Lamb Milanese, Buff Tenderloin with salsa verde, and layered Eggplant Parmigiano are hearty, filling, and extremely delicious. On the dessert front, we have their iconic Moka Pot Tiramisu, Pistachio Crème Brûlée and Deep Fried Apple Pie: all of which are perfect for diners with a big sweet tooth, just like mine.

The “No Work Ethics” cocktail menu is a highlight at Cantina, chock-full of inventive serves made with singular ingredients like rose, herbs, tomato, or chocolate. And then, of course, there are classic Negronis and Margaritas, with in-house specials like Mystique (Bacardi, absinthe, cucumber syrup) and Bloody Figoa (mezcal blanco, tomato, lime, wasabi).

Inside, rust, mustard and burnt-tomato tones pair with terrazzo, rattan and steel to create a warm, playful ambience that feels both bar-driven and casual. Interestingly, there’s even an interactive letterbox feature that lets diners drop a note to be mailed anywhere in India, adding a delightful personal touch to the experience.
