We’re finally getting used to saying ‘2026’ instead of ‘2025,’ and Bengaluru’s ever-evolving food and nightlife scene is already moving at full speed. As 2026 rolls in, the city is welcoming a fresh crop of restaurants, cafés, and bars that are redefining how—and where—we eat, drink, and socialise. From neighbourhood spots that are slowly amassing a very large cult following to buzzy new openings making a statement with bold menus and design-forward spaces, January has arrived with more than enough reasons to step out!

Known for embracing new ideas while staying deeply rooted in comfort and familiarity, Bengaluru’s dining culture continues to thrive on reinvention. This month’s openings are all about exactly that: chefs experimenting with flavours, restaurateurs playing with newer styles and formats, and spaces that are as much about the experience as they are about what’s being served on the plate. Whether you’re feeling up for a relaxed coffee run, a dragged-out, delicious and fancy meal, or a high-energy night out, these are among the city’s newest addresses that promise something for every kind of plan.

If your resolution for the year involves discovering better food, better drinks, and better places to hang out, consider this your starting point. Here’s a curated list of all the new spots in Bengaluru that you need to check out this January—before everyone else does.

SOL 55

In a city crowded with flashy lounges and blink-and-you’ll-miss-them trends, SOL55 in Koramangala is taking a refreshingly different route. Inspired by the idea of the sun—which is ‘sol’ in Spanish— this new-age neighbourhood bar is designed to feel warm, familiar, and easy to come back to. The space is somewhere between fancy and just casual enough: the interiors are polished but not pretentious, while the food tastes premium yet is comfortably priced. It’s the kind of place that works for any kind of outing; one where you could drop in after work or settle in for a long evening with friends.

At its core, SOL55 is built around Bengaluru’s social drinking culture. Some of the crowd-favourites on the food menu include their seafood thali, Malai Chicken Tikka, Koli Vada Prawn, Peri Peri chicken wings, and rice pudding with ice cream. Since it is a bar after all, regulars love their Berry I need, beer pitchers, and Kokum Spritz. SOL 55 is a bar that understands its audience: people who want good music, good conversations, and no-nonsense drinks that are very strong and very smooth.

403 Forbidden Bar

Among the newest entries to Bengaluru’s nightlife is 403 Forbidden Bar, a concept that bucks the typical loud, spectacle-led scene and instead invites you to slow down and be present. The bar is inspired by something we encounter almost every day. Taking the concept of the HTTP “403 Access Denied” error code, the founders, Aman Dua and Rachit Saboo, have turned the idea of access denied into something unexpected: a space designed around attention, engagement, and intentional interaction.

One of the newest, most experimental cocktail bars in town.

Located in Indiranagar, the bar presses on the flavour, company, and the craft behind each drink, rather than the after-effect of drinking it. With moody lighting, an immersive layout, and selective sound design to reduce sensory overload, the bar focuses on a ‘phones away’ philosophy, allowing visitors to savour each moment spent there.

Cocktails are at the heart of the experience here, under the guidance of mixologist Aman Dua. The programme emphasises ingredient behaviour, controlled techniques, sustainability, and flavour integrity. What really sets 403 Forbidden apart is its by-request personalised cocktail ritual, where the bartenders use your preferences to create a bespoke drink. This is a fresh contrast to static menus and indicates a move toward meaningful, sensory storytelling through food and drink.

Suka Brew and Kitchen

Among Bangalore’s busy and buzzy new openings is Suka Brew and Kitchen: a lively brew lounge and kitchen tucked away in Vishweshwaraiah. With a warm, contemporary ambience that blends well with Bengaluru’s social vibe, Suka Brew focuses on globally inspired comfort food, craft drinks, and good times.

Suka’s menu draws on multiple cuisines, resulting in flavour-forward dishes that appeal to a wide range of palates. Among our favourites, there are fiery coastal classics like Shetty’s Prawns Ghee Roast, spicy Kori Kempu Bezule, and juicy peri-peri paneer tikka, alongside crowd-pleasing items such as Mafia Prawns Bao and fiery BBQ chicken pizza. For starters and bar bites, there’s plenty to share, and don’t miss the curry leaf rasam soup for something comforting before the mains!

As far as drinks and brews are concerned, true to its name, Suka Brew puts drinks front and centre. The bar programme pairs well with its food: you can expect refreshing craft beers, inventive cocktails, and well-balanced brews. Some of the cocktail highlights include the Island Whisper and Sakura Scotch.

With its rich, multi-cuisine menu, thoughtfully mixed drinks, and comfortable setting, Suka Brew and Kitchen is already carving out its spot in Bangalore’s ever-expanding food and drink landscape—especially for those who want one space that does a bit of everything well!

Beige Bangalore

Bastian Hospitality’s first venture in Bengaluru, Beige, is an all-day spot that’s equally suited to relaxed brunches and fancy dinners. Though the brand has wider roots as a café concept known for coffee and baked goods in other cities, Bengaluru’s Beige brings that same sense of warmth and familiarity to the city, with Egyptian-sand-coloured architecture and a vibe that feels very exotic right in the midst of the town.

On the menu, there’s everything delicious from good pastas like white-sauce classics to well-made cold coffees and café favourites that are perfect for breakfast or an easy lunch. Some crowd favourites include their Truffle Oil Mushroom Chai, Pil-Pil Prawns, Patatas Bravas, and Chicken Changezi Tart. The coffee, especially, is a big part of the pull at most Bastian-led restaurants, and this one is no different!

Part of Beige’s charm is how it blends everyday food with a vibe that works for all special occasions. Whether it’s the creamy cold brew you order on a hot afternoon or the satisfying pasta that closes out an easy weekend lunch, this is a place that caters to comfort while experimenting with all things safe.

Tropika Brewing Co

This large-scale brewpub brings island vibes to Marathahalli, chock-full of lush greenery, warm lighting, and very fun tropical elements, creating a space where you can genuinely take a pause away from the city’s hustle culture. Designed as an urban sanctuary, Tropika offers an experience that feels more like a retreat than a restaurant, which is among its biggest pulls.

Tropical, mouth-watering, and very fancy—this is the spot you need to hit this weekend! (Credits: @tropika_blr)

As the name suggests, at the heart of Tropika is its craft brewery, led by the philosophy (or motto) “Good Beer Doesn’t Hurry.” Their lineup spans eight signature brews, right from bright, citrusy options like Belgian Wit and Coral IPA, to warmer, richer pours like Chocolate Stout and Coconut Cream Ale. For those who like fruity twists in their beers, there’s also a refreshing Strawberry Cider. Beyond brews, Tropika’s bar also includes a curated selection of classic cocktails, signature mixed drinks and tropical coolers that complement the resort-like feel of the space.

The food menu matches the scale of the brewery. Tropika serves over 200 globally inspired dishes, ranging from appetisers, tandoor items, and Asian mains to burgers, dim sum, pasta, pizzas, and biryanis, alongside vegetarian, vegan, and Jain-friendly options. The breadth is quite literally endless, so you can casually graze while you sip or plan a complete meal that pairs well with your drink.

Nila

One of the most talked-about new openings in Cambridge Layout, Nila brings a chef-driven tasting menu to Bangalore’s evolving restaurant scene. Housed in a cleverly remodelled bungalow with roomy, light-filled interiors, Nila sets the tone for an experience that’s as intentional as it is memorable.

This is among Bengaluru’s only course-based restaurants.

At the helm of the restaurant is Chef Rahul Sharma, whose decade-long journey through kitchens like Masque and a scholarship-fuelled stint under Noma’s René Redzepi has shaped Nila’s vision. The focus here isn’t quick bites or a café experience—it’s a 12-course degustation that explores the diversity of Indian ingredients and techniques, mixed in with global technique and execution.

Dishes at Nila read as a curated exploration of Indian flavours reimagined through a fine-dining lens. Among the standout courses are Nila’s black soy bean tart with charred chives, pickled persimmon kebabs, and a sensory yam milk and bamboo broth. Mains include everything from smoked pork belly with turmeric and raw mango sauce to black wheat noodles with smoked fish in a bamboo broth. Clearly, it’s about all things experimental. The dessert includes offerings like charred pineapple and Sichuan peppercorn ice cream that are no less than the main courses!

In a city where tasting menus are still relatively rare, Nila stands out as a destination dining experience, inviting diners to slow down, savour each course, and discover modern Indian cuisine in a new light.
