Mi Piaci, an Italian restaurant that recently opened in Mehrauli’s Ambawatta One, brings the best of Italy to Delhi. Helmed by Restaurateur, Priyank Sukhija and Chef Lorenzo Lanzoni, it serves authentic preparations with a beautiful view of the Qutub Minar.
Mi Piaci’s journey began in Italy, where Lanzoni met Harish Rathore at the University of Bologna. The two gentlemen’s friendship landed Lanzoni in India. The country’s cultural energy and diversity amused him, and that planted the idea of building something in India. Lanzoni runs three Italian restaurants back in his country, and Mi Piaci is another feather in his hat.
The People Of Mi Piaci
Everyone on Mi Piaci’s team is Italian. Corporate Chef Mattia Volpari, who trained under Gualtiero Marches and worked in Michelin-starred restaurants across Italy, heads the kitchen. Pizza chef Alessandro Passa, who once worked at one of Europe’s most reputed pizza chains, Meno Male, brings skills and techniques he has picked up from his travels across the continent.
The restaurant aims to provide an immersive dining experience where food takes centre stage and allows you to indulge in the culinary craft that Mia Piaci’s team brings.
Food At Mi Piaci
Mia Piaci’s menu is an ode to authentic Italian flavours, from its appetisers and pasta to its main course and desserts. Some standout dishes include their diavola bites (tender chicken bites marinated with chilli, garlic, and herbs), tartare di tonno (tuna tartare with a hint of citrus), gasse al pesto (Ligurian pasta served with basil pesto or sun-dried tomato pesto), papparedelle al ragu, and agnello ala toscana (tender lamb slow-cooked with rosemary, garlic, and seasonal vegetables).
Highlights from the pizza section of the menu include their Ortolana, burrata, and Napoli pizzas.

Some signature cocktails you must try at the restaurant include pompeii tequila-based paloma, tomatini, and ciao bella.
Great theatrics accompany delectable preparations. Their signature tagliatelle Mi Piaci is tossed inside a wheel of Parmigiano, and the tiramisù is prepared live from scratch with handmade ladyfingers on your tables.
A ritual at Mia Piaci is to make handmade tagliatelle, ravioli, and spaghetti alla chitarra every day. Much emphasis is laid on the ingredients, many of which are sourced directly from Italy. According to Lanzoni, everything from cheese and pizza flour to peeled tomatoes and artisanal cured meats is handpicked.
