If I have to be honest, Jaipur’s food space was in a lull these past few months. Being in Delhi, away from my city, I was rarely told about a new place that I “must visit” when I’m back. But things seem to be changing quite drastically as the conversations about food and new eating hotspots have resurfaced. And I couldn’t be happier.
From a new entrant in the cocktail bar club and a all-day coffee shop that is treating the beverage with more precision than Jaipur has seen before, to a dedicated matcha bar, the Pink City is surprising itself with fresh concepts and risky choices.
If you are in town and tired of visiting the same old restaurants for your meals, coffee, or cocktails, here is a list that won’t disappoint.
307 Bakehouse
Living away from Jaipur, I am almost always being told about new places that are opening up in the city by friends and family. One such spot in the city that almost everyone I have spoken to has mentioned at least once is the 307 bakehouse in C-Scheme. Founded by Jyoti, a pastry chef, who once ran a cloud kitchen, the bakehouse has easily become the talk of the town for all the right reasons.
If you see people stepping out with a broad smile from a cosy shop with bright red interiors, you have found the bakehouse. On your visit, don’t forget to try their popular bombolinis which are available in different flavours (my most favourite is the lotus biscoff), their Boston cream donuts, and cinnabons. The bakehouse also offers a range of craft coffee options that pair well with the sweet treats.

Dupion
Jaipur introduced itself to the concept of a cocktail bar only when the Native Cocktail Room opened doors in the city in 2022. Today, there are many spots in the city where you could drive down for a well crafted cocktail and you won’t regret it. An addition to Pink City’s cocktail room club is Dupion in Malviya Nagar.
It is one of the few after-dark spots and the only bartender’s bar in the city that offers cocktails where ingredients and skill are allowed to shine in equal measure. The drinks feature in-house ferments, concoctions, and ingredients that have travelled across the world through the Silk Route, including teas, spices, dried fruits, florals and others.

The food menu at Dupion looks equally promising. The roster is a right balance of flavours from the Mughlai and Italian to Asian cuisines. If you are visiting for Asian, don’t forget to try their fireleaf gyoza, red Thai chilli chicken dumplings, and Tokio crunchy sushi.
The emerald garlic paneer steak and rogan josh are some large plates to order, if that is what you are looking for. From the dessert section of the menu, I would highly recommend you try the khubani noor tres leches that layers apricot compote (khubani) with malai on a soft sponge.

Jacob’s Brew House
In addition to cocktails, Jaipur is now warming up to the world of coffee served in one-of-a-kind spaces like Jacob’s Brew House. Designed to look like a 2000s garage and hardware shop, the 15–seater café features ample funk and colour, enough for it to stand as a banger among the city’s other restaurants. The man behind the space is founder Sagar Nagpal who received much love from the city’s diners with Swinton House, his first project in the Pink City.
Jacob’s treats coffee with great skill and precision. Each cup is crafted by barista Sonam Darj Sherpa and comes with an information card that informs you about the source and processing of the coffee that you are about to sip on (and love). The expectation from the guest is to receive the beverage with equal attention. The news is that the cafe is serving one of the best Vietnamese coffees in town. Highlight from the food section include the robata- grilled thigh skewers, brown butter ravioli, waffles, pancakes, and their croissants that are available in flavours that bet to leave you confused.

Café Nola
Another addition to Jaipur’s coffee space is Café Nola. Located at the high-octane JLN Marg, the neighbourhood café is exactly what Jaipur is currently craving. Featuring an espresso bar and a food menu curated by Chef Ajay Anand, the vibe is chic and relaxed. The founders come with experience of serving the city at some of its most talked-about spots like 1932 Trevi and Diona.
Nola on Air, a podcast studio housed inside the all-day café is a concept that the Pink City has never heard of an that makes the space relevant for caffeine addicts and artists alike.

Paired with regular caffeine sips are signature offerings like the salted maple cold brew and Mont Blanc. And for the most noteworthy element of the space, you have Nola on Air–a dedicated podcast studio embedded within the cafe to enable entrepreneurs, artists and creators to share their stories.

Midori
Matcha featured on menus across Jaipur as soon as the Japanese tea became a fad in the rest of the country. However, if you told me that Jaipur would soon have a bar dedicated to the beverage, then I would take a moment before accepting. But the strawberry cloud matcha at Midori in Jaipur is a testament to how well the Pink City is doing the green beverage. Another highlight preparation featuring matcha and strawberries is the tres leches.
However, apart from this, the cafe serves the usual affogato, cappuccino, latte, and even an in-house wine cold brew that you should definitely try if you are looking for a new spot. On the food front, go for protein packed salad that features cottage chickpeas and a fresh hung curd cottage cheese sauce. Even their sourdough pizzas and burrata fresh dough sandwich are two other preparations that will have you planning your return a little too soon.
