Whether you like it rich, creamy, or fiery, these Mumbai ramen spots deliver flavour in every
Ever since we realised ramen is the most delicious, easy to make, and picture-perfect bowl to cook up, there’s been no going back. Nearly no effort can make it look like it’s right out of a Studio Ghibli film, thanks to the perfectly poached eggs, neatly cut tofu or chicken, beautiful green scallions, and the shiny noodles in broth.
I personally love my ramen to be cheesy, creamy, extremely, extremely spicy, and no soup at all with a Diet Coke on the side. But ramen is like cake—everyone has their own ways of eating, with their own toppings and ingredients. In my opinion, it’s one of the most versatile meals out there, thanks to just how many different ways it can be made.
However, when you’re not in the mood to hover over a pot or pretend you’re a home chef who knows the difference between tare and dashi, Mumbai’s ramen scene has you covered. The city has quietly—but very confidently—built a roster of ramen joints that take their bowls very seriously.
Ramen has become more than just a meal. It’s the thing you think about on your Uber ride home, the dish you order when the week feels too long, your ultimate post-party guilty pleasure, and the comfort you seek when the weather decides to be moody (which is literally all year long in the case of Mumbai monsoons). And the best part? Every neighbourhood seems to have its own hero ramen spot, each one bringing something new to the table.
So if you’re ready to slurp your way through the city, we’ve done the hard part for you. Here are the bowls that Mumbai can’t stop ordering from and obsessing over.
The Ramen Kitchen, in collaboration with Barako Bubble Tea, has worked on the combination that dreams are made of: hot, fiery ramen bowls, paired with sweet, chewy boba teas—a match made in heaven, right?

Serving every ramen bowl you’ve ever dreamt of, The Ramen Kitchen lets you pick your bowl based on what flavours and veggies sit right with you off the menu, or even make your own ramen.
Right from the kind of noodles and sauces, to the toppings and the consistency, this make-your-own-ramen lets you design your bowl just as you love it, and then see the magic come to life as it cooks right in front of you.
If you choose to eat off the menu, my personal favourites include their miso fried chicken ramen, which is crispy, umami-packed, and soul-satisfying. Another crowd-favourite is their Hokkaido miso ramen, made with rich miso broth, chewy hand-pulled ramen noodles, and tender, juicy chashu chicken slices.
Go soon, and take your friends with you, because this one’s going to become your go-to, without emptying your pockets.

Tucked on Hill Road in Bandra West, Seefah is a neighbourhood gem that quietly delivers on the ramen dream. The restaurant, co-founded by chefs Seefah Ketchaiyo and Karan Bane, blends Thai and Japanese flavours naturally, and their ramen bowls (among other dishes on the menu) sit at that delicious intersection.

Seefah’s ramen is widely praised for its comforting balance. It’s the kind of bowl that warms you inside out, whether you’re nursing a late-night craving or fighting the craving to have 2 bowlfuls for lunch.
One standout is their roasted tenderloin shoyu ramen: a deep soy-based broth, chewy noodles (the hallmark of a good ramen), and tender, grilled meat that you dip into flavour with each bite. Topped up with shoyu egg and crisp leeks, it’s the perfect bowl of everything good in the world. The joint is fun, warm, and laid-back, perfect for late-night weekend dinners or a nice catch-up with friends.
And good news for couch potatoes—their delish creations are available for takeaway, too!

This one is often revered as one of Mumbai’s best spots for authentic, soulful Japanese, and the ramen bowls stand by that perfectly. It’s one of those places that doesn’t scream for attention yet always ends up fully booked—and for all the right reasons.

With dim warm lighting, soft wood accents, a sleek izakaya-style bar, and a calm, minimalist Japanese aesthetic, this spot instantly unclutters your brain and prepares you for a good, hearty meal. It’s the kind of space that feels just as right for a mid-week solo meal as it does for a date night, with a soundtrack and energy that never overpower the food.
Mizu is a relaxed Japanese-Izakaya serving consistently good food. And their ramen is pure comfort in a bowl—rich, steamy, deeply savoury broths that taste like they’ve been bubbling for hours, springy noodles with the perfect chew, and toppings that feel thoughtful rather than over-stacked.
Whether you go for their pork-based bowl, the Saporro Ramen, made with pork-based miso broth, pork chasu, citrus chilli oil, and hand-pulled sesame noodles, or the surprisingly impressive veg version, the flavours hit warm, cosy, umami notes that Mumbai diners swear by.
Beyond ramen, Mizu’s menu reads like a love letter to Japan: delicate sushi rolls with clean flavours, crisp gyozas, zingy ceviche-style plates, and comforting donburi bowls—all executed so perfectly that it keeps regulars coming back, over and over. Happy eating!

This spot will make all your Tokyo dreams come true, just in one meal, I promise!

Harajuku brings a playful, full-on Tokyo-meets-Mumbai energy that’s rare to find. The space merges two distinct zones: a 72-seat café & bar and a 12-seat bakehouse. During the day, there’s conveyor-belt sushi (kaiten zushi) and freshly-made Japanese breads and pastries from the bakehouse; by night, it flips into a lively izakaya—with neon lights, anime-inspired décor, sushi belts, and all the high-energy vibes you want for a fun night out.
For ramen lovers, Harajuku doesn’t disappoint. Popular options for ramen orders include the yummy katsu curry ramen and the rich toripaitan (creamy chicken broth), while the shoyu ramen is a good choice for a lighter, classic option. For a vegetarian or vegan choice, the vegan tantanmen is a spicy sesame broth noodle soup that tastes extremely authentic, despite the lack of meat.
Other than ramen, their menu also includes sushi and a host of Japanese street-food items—think crisp karaage, robata grills, and even quirky takes on Japanese fries or corn dogs. Each will leave you asking for more!

Walking into Yazu feels like stepping into a culinary playground designed for all things Asian, not just one cuisine, but all your favourite Asian delicacies, packed into one place.
Spread over a sprawling 6,000-sq-ft space at its Lower Parel outlet, the place is equal parts roomy and atmospheric, with a mix of earthy indoor textures and biophilic touches that soften the mood without losing the buzz.

No one can have just one at Yazu! (Credits: @yazumumbai)On the food front, Yazu doesn’t do half-measures. Their Japanese ramen bowl is loaded with soba noodles, tender chicken, crunchy asparagus, basil, and soft-boiled egg, with everything cooked to perfection. The broth is just spicy enough, and feels like a warm hug on all those rainy Bombay evenings. An underrated spot for ramen, this one’s a must for all those who wish to try the best of ramen bowls all over the city.
The rest of the menu reads like a tour of Asia—Cantonese rice-roll dim sums, Taiwanese baos, Japanese nigiri sushi, and Thai-inspired plates. Whatever you pick, it shows intent: dishes look thoughtfully plated, flavours are bold without mixing too many things into one, and the variety makes it ideal for mixed groups. Be rest assured that you might come for ramen but end up ordering sushi, dim sum, and a few cocktails (and some more)!
