Actor Mona Singh’s restaurants and all-day bar Kona Kona in Mumbai gears up to host Yasmeen Qureshi, daughter of the legendary Padma Shri Chef Imtiaz Qureshi, from August 14 to August 17 for a four-day Awadhi cuisine pop-up featuring dishes and flavours that Qureshi grew up eating.
The pop-up is as much a celebration of the cuisine as of the memories that Qureshi associates with it. Every dish on the menu uses techniques, cooking methods, and ingredients that are true to the dish and the cuisine.
The pop-up is a part of Kona Kona’s ongoing initiative to spotlight female chefs, allow them to share their stories, and let the world witness their craft.
Guests can expect an elaborate spread featuring dishes steeped in nostalgia and warmth. Some highlights from the menu include starters like galouti kebabs, barra, dahi kebabs, and prawns.
The main course roster features Qureshi’s mother’s favourite daal, iconic dishes like Lucknowi mutton biryani, kathal biryani, classic chicken curry, a slow-cooked nihari, and marrow nihari.
To end your meal on a sweet note, go for the timeless favourites that Qureshi has put on the menu, including shahi tukda and phirni. The Kona Kona X Yasmeen Qureshi pop-up is a dining experience paired with stories and memories.
