Miss Margot Brings Back Mumbai’s Cocktail Lounge Era

Fun cocktails, flamboyant interiors, and a vibe that's always a hit, Miss Margot celebrates Mumbai's gilded lounge era with aplomb

Miss Margot, Mumbai

A new entrant in Mumbai’s culinary space, Miss Margot aims to bring back the age of lounge culture in a fast-paced city like Mumbai. Located at the familiar crossroads of Bandra, the restaurant comes alive after sunset when the city lights up and conversations take centre stage.

The restaurant is owned by Kishore D.F., who is also behind many eateries and cultural spaces across the city. With his newest venture, Miss Margot, he has attempted to craft a personal, poised, and refined space.

Drinks At Miss Margot

Celebrated mixologist Dimi Lezinska spearheads the bar program at Miss Margot, which encapsulates the restaurant’s essence. The program is guided by unique ingredients rather than visual flair, and is crafted to suit all moods.

Some must-tries from the drinks menu include the classic martini—a crystal-clear blend of gin and dry vermouth that lets the quality of each element speak for itself, only fans—made with vodka infused with passionfruit, balanced by vanilla sparkling wine, inquisitive cat—a vibrant mix of Jose Cuervo Reposado Tequila, prawn-infused aperol, prawn pickle, grapefruit juice, grapefruit cordial, lime, and blood orange kombucha, and swaggermaster, which is a rich, complex blend of Flor de Caña 12 YO, sherry, Luxardo Morlacco cherry liqueur, and Luxardo Amaro.

Food At Miss Margot

Helmed by Chef Parth Purandare, the kitchen at Miss Margot takes an introspective approach to modern European small plates with a touch of Japanese inspiration.

Highlights include the hay-smoked salmon with gentleman’s relish, citrus soy, flying fish roe, goat cheese, and beet salad, where pickled beets meet Rechado cream and spiced rice crisps.

The tuna negimaki pairs beautifully with citrus velouté, pomme puree and crispy leeks, while the deconstructed chicken wings are laced with sambal buffalo sauce and finished with shaved Roquefort. The Tom Yum Gambas brings together prawns and sea bream in a bold and comforting broth, served with fluffy mantou buns.

Ambience

Designed by Shabnam Gupta of The Orange Lane, the interiors at Miss Margot are layered and immersive and unfold like a slow reveal. Spread across 4,000 sq ft and designed to seat up to 128 guests, the space offers intimacy with elegance.

As you walk in, you will be greeted by a wall of candles casting flickering shadows around the host’s desk. A line of chandeliers will draw you inward, catching light off brushed gold accents, velvet cushions, and the long, handsome bar that anchors the room. The seating is plush, tactile, warm, and designed to let you lean back and stay awhile.

Gilded Parisian-style mirrors stretch across the walls on the back end, aged and etched with French graffiti, bouncing a soft glow that lends the space its signature teal-emerald sheen.

Whether at a candlelit table for two or sharing the long community table, the feeling remains like the city outside has faded, leaving you with the warmth of low light, great food, and memorable moments with family and friends.
