Kickstart Durga Puja 2025 With The “Homecoming” Pop-Up In Mezze Mambo

Durga Puja 2025 is still weeks away, but Delhi foodies can dive into the festive spirit early with “Homecoming,” a Bengali supper club pop-up at Mezze Mambo on 14 September.

Toontooni's Table and Mezze Mambo bring a 10-course Bengali feast, Homecoming

Durga Puja 2025 may be at the tail-end of September, but that does not mean the celebrations cannot begin already. Some of us, who love it for all the food that we can devour guilt-free, are already counting the days. If you’re one of this kind and are already feeling the Pujo, we’ve got good news. Toonika Guha, the founder and host of the Bengali supper club, Toontooni’s Table, is teaming up with Chef Shridula Chatterjee of Mezze Mambo to bring you a delicious spread of loved Bengali dishes on September 14, 2025. Named “Homecoming,” this pop-up at Mezze Mambo is a great way to kickstart the food fest that Durga Puja is. The culinary experience features delectable Bengali dishes prepared with a spin and themed after each of the ten days of Durga Puja.

What’s On The Menu?

The line-up is a true love letter to Bengali cuisine, and leaves no crumbs behind in covering the range of dishes enjoyed during the festival. There are street food favourites like aloo and beet chop, daak’er dim’er devil (devilled eggs with duck egg), and puchkar aloo’r dum (a typical Kolkata streetside bite), followed by authentic dishes like kucho chingri bhorta (a spicy mash of poached shrimps, burnt green chillies & garlic, mustard oil & gonghoraj lemon) and bhetki paturi. There are also classic Bengali dishes with a contemporary take, such as the peyaj & posto, featuring caramelised onions tossed in creamy posto and served on a crunchy rice paper and puchka’ar jhol granita. The dessert course takes the whole fare notches above with bideshi shahi tukra that includes
caramelised brioche topped with cream cheese, nolen gur ice cream and peanut brittle.

Besides great food, diners are in for enriching conversations characteristic of an intimate supper club and lots of golpo that any kind of Bengali celebration is absolutely incomplete without. The pop-up has limited seats and the entry is based on pre-booking only.
