The Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 list was unveiled at an awards ceremony in Macau on July 15, and Indian bars made a strong showing this year, with five entries in the top 50. Hong Kong’s Bar Leone was named the best bar in Asia, but it was New Delhi’s Lair that stole the spotlight for India, coming in at No. 8 and earning the title of Best Bar in India 2025, sponsored by Matusalem.

Lair has quickly become one of the capital’s most exciting cocktail destinations. Tucked away like a modern speakeasy, it draws inspiration from 1920s prohibition-era bars, combining old-world charm with inventive mixology. The bar is known for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly bartenders, and signature drinks like the Blueberry Cheesecake, made with blueberry and cream liqueur, and the Mountain Breeze, which uses regional ingredients to evoke the flavours of the Himalayas. The extensive cocktail menu may seem intimidating, but the bartenders take the time to guide guests through it, tailoring drinks to personal tastes and moods.

Bengaluru also made a strong mark on the list, with three of its bars securing spots. Soka came in at No. 28, followed by ZLB 23 at No. 31, and Bar Spirit Forward at No. 37. The city’s growing cocktail culture and focus on craft bartending are clearly gaining international attention.

Goa’s Boilermaker was ranked No. 30, rounding out the Indian presence in the top 50. Known for its laid-back charm and bold drink offerings, Boilermaker reflects Goa’s unique blend of beach culture and sophisticated nightlife.

Earlier this month, the extended 51–100 list was also announced. While they didn’t make the top 50, some well-loved Indian names featured here too — Sidecar in Delhi at No. 62, The Bombay Canteen in Mumbai at No. 69, and Hideaway in Goa at No. 94.

With five bars in the top 50 and more climbing up the ranks, India’s cocktail scene continues to gain momentum, showcasing creativity, regional influences, and a new generation of talented bartenders making their mark across Asia.
