After stealing hearts with Dakshin Canteen in South Delhi, Chef Ruchika Hoon has answered every NCR resident’s prayers with her new outpost in Gurugram. While the name is all new, the flavours and the philosophy behind Hoon’s menu stick to the original idea of bringing South India’s authentic fiery cuisine to the fore. The loved dishes like Andhra Green Chilli Chicken, Mutton Keema Dosa, and Filter Coffee Ice-Cream are still very much in place, and the easy but colourful decor accompanies them too. Besides their menu, you can always expect Hoon and her team to surprise you with off-the-menu creations and themed pop-ups.

Opened just two days ago by Prateek Gupta and Priyam, Dumbo Deli is the reason why Meherchand Market is suddenly on everybody’s radar as the new cool place to be. Conceptualised as a neighbourhood hangout space, Dumbo Deli is far from being a place with rules or unnecessary hang-ups. During the day, it runs as a simple Deli, serving Florentine sandwiches, matcha lattes, soft serves, and cocktails from 12 pm. Post 8 pm, it transforms into a cosy dive bar that prides itself on the perfect bottled negronis, picante and espresso martinis. If you’re inclined towards the latter, we’d recommend reserving a spot, as there are only a few tables up for grabs and the buzz is real.

We were all bummed out when we heard of Fig & Maple’s closing, but Chef Radhika Khandelwal and partner Ravish Bhavnani didn’t let that last too long. They have taken all the best bits of their OG brainchild and added more fun, madness, and innovation to it, which translates into their menu and the decor. The former is full of bold, flavourful creations like Prawn Toast on a bed of Thai curry sauce, Chicken Ravioli with Mustard and Parmesan, and delectable desserts. Their cocktail menu makes it even better. Drink up their fun takes on classics like the Lao Gan Margarita that actually comes in the jar, or their take on the Aperol Spritz featuring gin.
