In Mumbai it is always a good time to swap dining indoors for a table right by the water
In a city that rarely pauses, the sea has always been Mumbai’s great equaliser. When the traffic gets loud and overwhelming, the crowds are thicker and more engulfing, and the skyline is full of bright lights that blur our vision, the city instinctively gravitates toward the coastline. And right now, with the city’s unusually clear AQI finally giving residents a breath of fresh air, there may be no better excuse to swap dining indoors for a table right by the water.
Mumbai’s relationship with the sea is deeply personal. In fact, the sea is probably among the first things about the city that I really fell in love with. From walks along Marine Drive at sunset to late-night kulfi runs at Chowpatty, the coastline lies at the heart and soul of the city of dreams. Naturally, some of the most memorable meals here happen with the Arabian Sea as our favourite dining companion. Think pizzas enjoyed against mellow sunsets, cocktails sipped as the waves crash in the distance, and long lunches where the breeze does half the work of lifting your mood.
While these spaces range from clubs and cafes to restaurants and bars, they all share one thread: the ability to turn a simple meal into an experience that feels quintessentially Mumbai. So, while the skies are clearer and the breeze is feeling kinder, this is your sign to head to the closest beachside spot in the city. These restaurants across Mumbai promise delicious food served with a generous side of picturesque, salt-air-filled views.
If there’s one place that captures Mumbai’s growing love affair with beachside luxury dining, it’s this newest entrant in Juhu’s Sun-N-Sand hotel: Bastian Beach Club. Located right by Juhu Beach, this space is everyone’s favourite beachside location to hit these days, thanks to the drinks, the views, the food, and of course, the vibes. Another venture by Bastian Hospitality, this is among India’s first beach clubs outside Goa and feels less like a traditional eatery and more like a tropical escape. Think breezy open-air seating ranging from beach beds to tables, palm trees everywhere you look, and the Arabian Sea as the only star of the show. Inspired by the beach club culture of destinations like Ibiza and Mykonos, the space shifts moods as if it’s second nature: relaxed brunches and sun-drenched lounging by afternoon, complete with mimosas, and loud, chaotic sundowners with DJs as the sky turns dark.

The menu is just as exciting as the setting, mixing Bastian’s signature foods with Asian and Latin influences. Small plates are great for sharing while watching the sea meet the sand. Standouts include the Veg Dry Corn Ceviche, Hamachi Ceviche, and Rock Broccolini tossed with curry leaf and chilli. Sushi, dumplings, and baos remain crowd favourites, while heartier mains like the Arabian Seabass Amazonico or the peppery 5 Pimientas Chicken Bowl are among the dishes visitors have been loving. And if you’re here for a long sunset session, the cocktails are designed to match the mood: the Sakura Cloud Martini with sake and lychee or the tropical Pacific Breeze with tequila and coconut water are perfect sundowner pairings.
Of course, no meal is ever complete without dessert. The indulgent Hazelnut Pull-Me-Up Cake and zesty lime-lemon creations are the perfect end to any meal (especially one by the sea). Here, at the Bastian Beach Club, the food may draw you in, but it’s the unbeatable sea views and untamed beach-club energy that make you want to stay long after the sun goes down.

Few places in Mumbai carry the kind of nostalgia that Razzberry Rhinoceros does. Tucked in Juhu right before the breathtaking Arabian Sea, this iconic venue first became popular in the 1990s as a hub for lively music and some of the city’s best nightlife scenes before reinventing itself as a sprawling beachside restaurant and cultural space. Today, its charm lies in that amiable balance between old-school character and breezy, comfortable dining next to the sea. There are tables spilling out onto a sea-facing deck (perfect for dates and more intimate plans), palm trees swaying overhead, and uninterrupted views of the sunset over Juhu Beach.

The space itself is divided into several zones—from a cosy bistro and patio to a relaxed outdoor deck where the sea remains a significant part of the experience. Designed as an all-day destination, it transitions from leisurely lunches to laid-back dinners under warm fairy lights and rather lively sundowners. The menu, curated by chef Ranveer Brar during its 2017 revamp, leans Mediterranean, Italian, and Continental, with touches of global comfort food.
Popular picks include the chargrilled pepper calamari, Turkish minted falafel, and pan-seared sea bass, while mains like lamb tagine or a comforting yakhni gosht biryani offer a more substantial plate. Pair these with one of their classic cocktails—perhaps the Berry Mary Margarita, the Sangria, or the signature ‘root-to-fruit” cocktails.’
The sea-facing deck is a mere 5 steps away from the sea, so if not for the drinks or food, come for the spectacular views of Mumbai’s favourite beach!

Located inside Soho House Mumbai, overlooking Silver Beach, Cecconi’s is among the best Italian spots in town. Perched on the upper floors of the iconic Art Deco building, the restaurant offers one of the most serene seaside dining experiences in Mumbai. Wide windows frame uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea, making the outside seating the ideal choice for all diners. The restaurant remains flooded with natural light by day and the golden hues of the sunset by evening. The interiors—think polished marble, warm wood, and soft, jewel tones—bring a slice of classic Italian elegance to the shoreline.

The menu here remains true to Cecconi’s global reputation for serving up the best Northern Italian cuisine. Crowd favourites include lobster spaghetti, truffle and ricotta ravioli, and rich burrata with heritage tomatoes. For mains, go for the grilled sea bass and veal Milanese, standout choices paired best with a glass of wine from their specially curated list. If you’re stopping by earlier in the day, their brunch offerings—complete with fresh pastries, eggs, and Italian classics—make for a particularly delicious (and scenic) start to the morning. Their Sunday brunches are also among the best in town, featuring unlimited bellinis and mimosas alongside delicious brunch offerings.
While the food is great, the real highlight here is the space you’re surrounded by. As the sun begins to dip behind the Arabian Sea and the light turns honey-gold, Cecconi’s transforms into one of the city’s most romantic dining spots, complete with the soft glow of candlelight—the best seaside getaway in Mumbai, if you ask me!

Gadda Da Vida, located within the iconic Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach, is an open-air restaurant just steps from Juhu Beach, making it one of the few places in the city where you can dine almost right on the sand. Made complete with wooden decks, candle-lit tables, and the constant sound of waves, the space creates an atmosphere that’s surprisingly tranquil for a restaurant located in the middle of the bustling streets of Suburban Mumbai. Come sunset, the sky over the Arabian Sea turns into one of the most spectacular backdrops, making it a favourite for get-togethers and romantic dinners alike.

The menu offers a little something for every kind of diner, with seafood taking centre stage. Guests often gravitate toward the grilled lobster, butter garlic prawns, and tandoori seafood platters, all designed to complement the sea breeze and seaside setting. There are also comforting favourites like wood-fired pizzas and Mediterranean grills, for those who’re looking for something other than seafood. Pair your meal with one of their signature cocktails or a crisp glass of wine, and you have the perfect recipe for a relaxed evening by the water.
What truly sets Gadda Da Vida apart is the experience of dining so close to the sea that the boundary between restaurant and beach almost disappears. Visit ASAP!
